MARLIQUE CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Marlique vanity tops, tub surrounds and shower walls are easy to maintain, looking like new even years after installation. The natural marble in Marlique gives it a beautiful look, while the technology behind the product makes it more resistant to stains and scratches than quarried or cultured marble.
Regular cleaning... To clean Marlique, you need only a damp cloth or paper towel. In case of difficult spots, a small amount of liquid detergent is sufficient. While Marlique can withstand exposure to cosmetics and chemicals generally used in the bathroom without permanently staining like ordinary stone, it is advisable, as with any other countertop, to clean up spills as soon as possible after they occur.
Cleaning stubborn or dried spills For extremely stubborn spills, mild household cleaners such as Formula 409 and Lysol may be used. All hazy residue must be completely rinsed off to avoid diminishing the shine and beauty of the surface. NOTE: Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions and exercise proper care when handling and storing any cleaning products.
Spot removal... For routine spot removal, soak a pad or paper towel in water and mild household cleaner. Apply to the spot and let soak for two to five minutes. Remove the residue with a clean towel. Rinse thoroughly. For heavier or stubborn spots (nail polish, paint, etc.), first scrape away the excess with a wood or plastic scrapper and clean the area with one of the recommended cleaners—Formula 409 or Lysol—and a cloth pad.
Polishing and sealing... Unlike ordinary stone, Marlique has low liquid absorption and will keep its lustrous gloss and ultra-smooth surface with a lightly applied sealer; it is not necessary to use sealants or waxes on a routine basis. Sealing your Marlique surface once a year will suffice; any marble sealer available will do. Follow the product’s manufacturer’s instructions when applying.
No surface is indestructible... As with any surface, Marlique can be damaged by exposure to acid chemicals and some solvents. Do not use products containing trichlorethane or methylene chloride, such as paint removers or furniture strippers. Avoid chemicals containing high acidity (low pH levels) and organic acids. In the event of accidental exposure to any of these damaging products, thoroughly rinse with water as soon as possible.
Ventana Industries, LLC warrants to the original owners of installed Marlique products for a period of ten (10) years from the date of installation that the Marlique material will be free from manufacturing and material defects. If a manufacturing or material defect occurs during the warranty period, Ventana Industries, LLC will, at its option, repair or replace the defective Marlique products.
